My parents will be married 60 years in April, 2012. I have been happily married to a former USMC Marine Aviator for 26 years and will have lived in my home for 20 years as of Nov. 2012. I honor my family through my work, words, but mostly my deeds. As a working wife and mother I take pride in every job I do as it reflects me and represents my family.

My familyI have 3 sons. They love their family and are very good at friendship. It takes hard work to make a good family life, but well worth it. We began working our farm in 1992 as a family project. For a number of years our horses and cows added fertilizer over our entire property, including the 2 acre vineyard site. We planted our vines in 1998. Our sons worked the vineyard with us every year. Our family working side by side produced a flourishing vineyard.

One of my core values is Honor Family. I want to honor families of Oregon, especially District One and perform my job as your Representative in Congress to the best of my ability. I know I have integrity, courage, conviction and common sense which are very important qualities that insure you will be proud of me as your Representative. Because I have worked for 40 years in the private sector I know what families need. Beginning with our communities we can help each other build our neighborhoods safe and prosperous. I believe we will continue to build our state and country prominently, proudly and successfully by our ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit. I have many ideas that will tap into the expertise and maximize the potential of all Oregonians and Americans.

Politicians are always asking that we trust them, that we believe in them. Yet they seem to rarely indicate by their actions in office that they trust or believe in us. I firmly believe that the best economic plans come not from politicians and bureaucrats in Washington D.C., but from the people. I believe in the right and the ability of individuals to know best what is needed for their families and communities to prosper and thrive and I trust in the people's ability to effectively govern their personal lives. For too long our elected officials have wielded the power of government to restrain the people rather than wielding the power of the people to restrain the government.

As your Congressional representative, I will fight to reduce and limit the size, scope and intrusiveness of the Federal government and make government accountable to the people. Legislation must be limited to what is allowed in the U.S. Constitution and I will fight to eliminate the deficit and the debt, working to cut, cap and balance the federal budget.

Your vote for me is a sacred trust and I invite you to join me as together we work to restore the greatness of our District, our State and our Nation.

I stand for:

  • Right to bear arms
I think gun control should ONLY apply to criminals. Law abiding citizens should have the full rights of the 2nd amendment and the blessings of all our Constitutional Liberties. Right to Life

  • Right to Life
    I am Catholic and Pro-life.

  • Less Government
Government is supposed to govern and protect our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Government should not provide services but protects us and our interests from exploitation, fraud, use of force and physical harm. The Federal Government should give back all land to the States.

  • Healthcare reform
Government should not provide healthcare but provide legislation to permit interstate commerce for the healthcare business. Deregulating healthcare and giving the states the ability to allow freedom of choice for healthcare will permit fair access to healthcare for all. TORT reform is a key component to reduce healthcare costs and must be part of the solution.

  • Tax reform
The current tax code should be repealed. I believe a national sales tax is fair to everyone because it is non-discriminating and will eliminate special interest loopholes, tax evasion and provide more than enough revenue for the government's budget.

  • Conserving the Constitution
The Framers of our Constitution were intelligent, dedicated, far sighted and country loving. They wrote a 4000 word document under extremely divisive conditions requiring 566 votes over a 400 hour period. The constitution is absolutely a principle based document and provides protection against good intentions that steal liberties and the raw power of one branch. We should repeal decisions and Acts that infringe on our liberties.

  • Immigration reform
Securing our borders is necessary and will protect American Citizens and jobs. Electronic verification needs to be implemented nationwide and all illegal immigrants enter a path to residency which will include learning the English language, American traditions and mandatory community service. Felonious illegal immigrants must be deported and are ineligible for American citizenship.

  • Reduce Spending
Article one section 9 of the Constitution states that the government must publish its expenditures. Paring down the size of government to make it operate within the constraints and intentions of the constitution is the best way to reduce spending.

  • Debt Reduction
Entitlement reform is critical towards reducing our country's debt. In TORT reform, legislation should include provisions for unreasonable punitive settlements and become part of the funds included in our Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid programs.

  • Education
Public education is not working. Our government has spent billions on improving education and it has not happened. The system must change. I want to propose eliminating the Department of Education to only an oversight capacity. The states should be in control of education.
